About Me
Becoming a doula was something I began thinking about a very long time ago, but never pursued until 2024 as I looked for a new chapter combining the experiences of my own pregnancies (one loss and 2 midwife hospital births) with my passion for wanting to teach and serve others.
I have been an Early Childhood and Elementary educator in both the public and private sector since graduating from the University of New Hampshire with a Teaching Certificate and Honors Degree in Family and Child Studies in 1993.
I am fortunate to be married to my incredibly supportive Husband, Paul. Together we raised two children and are currently planning 2 weddings! We have 1 grand puppy so far...
When I am not teaching or "Doula-ing" I enjoy spending time outside, especially at the beach, walking, paddle boarding, kayaking, swimming, biking, and hiking. I also enjoy entertaining, music, audio books, puzzles, vintage shopping, decorating, and my jeep! If I can combine any or all of the above with family and friends, even better!

Client Testimonials:
"If you're considering having a doula be a part of your birth journey, I cannot recommend Kathy enough. As someone who has struggled with anxiety for much of my life, it’s no surprise that the idea of giving birth brought a lot of nervousness. I didn’t have a detailed birth plan—my only real goal was a safe, healthy delivery for both me and my baby. But once I learned how impactful the role of a doula could be, I knew it was the right decision for me.
From the very first conversation, Kathy's warmth, reassurance, and genuine kindness put me at ease. It felt like much of my anxiety about birth lifted just by speaking with her. Whether it was a small worry during pregnancy or the intensity of labor itself, I knew I could count on Kathy to support and empower me every step of the way.
Her calming presence and steady encouragement allowed me to have the birth experience I had hoped for—one that felt empowered, supported, and even peaceful at times. When the contractions came hard and fast, Kathy helped me recenter myself. She taught me to lean into the experience rather than resist it, which made an incredible difference—not just emotionally, but physically, too. I truly believe her presence helped make my labor not only more manageable but less painful.
Kathy wasn’t just there for me—she was also an incredible support to my husband. She gently guided him on how to best be there for me, while also being a calming and reassuring presence for him during our long labor. Her professionalism never wavered, but by the end of the journey, she felt like a trusted friend.
I’m deeply honored that Kathy was part of our son’s birth. Working with her exceeded all my expectations, and I absolutely plan to have her by my side for any future births. From pregnancy to postpartum, her dedication, care, and passion for her work never faltered. Being a doula isn’t just what she does—it’s truly who she is."
